The shepherd is carrying weaponry such as a long rifle (boylía [Bulg.]), a pistol (pishtóv [Bulg.]), a knife (karákulak [Bulg.]), a cartridge-box (palaska [Bulg.]) and a powder-box (barútnitsa [Bulg.]). The original of this photo was taken in 1902 by Krum Savov. |
